The Pembroke Lumber Kings had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over the Ottawa Senators.

Ottawa was stymied by Pembroke netminder Darren Smith, who stopped 25 shots during the victory. Smith managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.87 prior to the game.

The Lumber Kings were sparked by Darcy Haines, who registered one goal. Haines scored 5:15 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Pembroke. Dylan Staples picked up the assist.

Pembroke's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Ottawa power plays.

Pembroke also got points from Colin Kruse, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Pembroke also got a goal from Lucas Gonu as well. In addition, Pembroke received assists from Liam Biard, who had two and Jordan Larson and Keegan Harper, who each chipped in one.

The Senators were held below their usual level of production. Ottawa averages 4.3 goals per game.

The Lumber Kings incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Senators' Alexandre Savard-Belanger stopped 25 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Ottawa incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
