Andrew Pikul had a standout game with 25 saves, and the Brockville Braves beat the Kemptville 73s 3-1. Kemptville's power play was ineffective against Brockville's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. The Braves were paced by Hayden Hulton, who had one goal. Hulton scored on the power play 12:40 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Brockville. A roughing penalty on Brandon Cole had put Brockville on the power play. Cory Wilson picked up the assist. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 13:50 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. The Braves' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Kemptville power plays. Brockville kept the 73s' goalie busy throughout the game, and Jacob Tugnutt made 34 saves on 37 shots. The Braves were hit hard by penalties in the contest, and totaled nine minors and one major for 23 minutes in penalty time. Brockville also got points from Jonathan Power, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Ryan Cusin, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Brockville received assists from Nathan Todd, Brett Garvey, and Andrew Peski, who each chipped in one. Kemptville's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the 73s finished with 27 penalty minutes. Kemptville was led by Ben St Marseille, who scored the team's only goal. St Marseille scored 15:59 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Cole provided the assist. Brockville registered one goal on nine power play opportunities. The Braves ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Connor Bebb was ejected from the game. For the 73s, Phil Smith was ejected from the game.
