Huge game by Clitsome boosts Ottawa over Brockville, 4-1

Behind a great game by Eric Clitsome, who had two goals and one assist, the Ottawa Senators defeated the Brockville Braves, 4-1.

Clitsome scored at 4:20 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ottawa and again while 8:28 into the first to make the score 2-0 Ottawa.

Ottawa pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 25 penalty minutes.

Ottawa also got points from Michael Evelyn, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Ottawa also got a goal from Chris King as well. In addition, Ottawa received assists from Alexandre Savard-Belanger, Zachary Rheaume, Joe Shecter, and Robert Michel, who each chipped in one.

Brockville excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. The Braves could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Brockville puts an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game.

The Braves were led by Ryan Cusin, who scored the team's only goal. Cusin scored on the power play 18:03 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Ottawa. Brockville had gained a power play chance when Clitsome was whistled for tripping. Jonathan Power assisted on the tally.

Savard-Belanger rejected 17 shots on goal for the Senators. For Ottawa, David Chevrier was ejected from the game. Andrew Pikul recorded 22 saves for the Braves. Brockville totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 1-for-8 on the power play. The Braves ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Taylor Henry was ejected from the game.
