Pinios stymies Gloucester, Smiths Falls wins 3-1

Michael Pinios had a standout game with 36 saves, and the Smiths Falls Bears beat the Gloucester Rangers 3-1.

Smiths Falls was sparked by Brett Costello, who finished with one goal and one assist. Costello scored 3:28 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Smiths Falls. Karson McCartney assisted on the tally.

The Bears' offense rang up 47 shots on Gloucester's net.

Brandon Lesway also scored for Smiths Falls. In addition, Smiths Falls received assists from Chris MacMillan, Daniele Disipio, Zachary Senyshyn, and Stefano Momesso, who contributed one a piece.

Smiths Falls was unable to stop the Rangers from sending pucks towards the net, and Gloucester eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

The Rangers were led by Greg Jansz, who scored the team's only goal. Jansz scored on the power play 9:31 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Gloucester had gotten the advantage when the Bears' McCartney was sent off for interference. Zak Salloum picked up the assist.

Smiths Falls incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Doug Johnston rejected 44 shots on goal for the Rangers. Gloucester incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
