Carleton Place's Edwards deadly on offense in 3-1 win against Kemptville

Luke Edwards was all over the ice for the Carleton Place Canadians, as he tallied two goals in Carleton Place's 3-1 win over the Kemptville 73s.

Edwards found the back of the net on the power play 11:23 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Carleton Place and again while 34 seconds into the third to make the score 3-1 Carleton Place.

The Canadians excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Kemptville was unable to stop Carleton Place from sending pucks towards the net, and the Canadians eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

Carleton Place also got a goal from Andy Sturtz as well. More assists for Carleton Place came via Jim Roll, Vinny Post, Brett DAndrea, Anthony McVeigh, Craig Pefley, and Stephen Bayliss, who contributed one a piece.

Carleton Place's defense shut down the 73s' forwards for much of the game, and Kemptville got off only 12 shots during the contest.

The 73s were led by Dylan Giberson, who scored the team's only goal. Giberson scored 18:08 into the second period to make the score 1-1. C Quinn picked up the assist.

The Canadians' Guillaume Therien stopped 11 shots out of the 12 that he faced. Carleton Place incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Jacob Tugnutt made 36 saves for Kemptville on 39 shots. The 73s incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
