Brockville outlasts Nepean, 4-3

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Brockville Braves escaped with a 4-3 victory over the Nepean Raiders.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Lucas Linville's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Brockville's penalty kill excelled, as the Braves gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Brockville was paced by Linville, who tallied one goal. Linville scored 4:20 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Brockville. Taylor Henry picked up the assist.

The Braves' offense rang up 51 shots on Nepean's net.

Brockville also got a goal from Jonathan Power as well. Other players who recorded assists for Brockville were Ryan Cusin, who had two and Shane Riddell, Brett Van Stralen, Connor Bebb, Nathan Todd, and Hayden Hulton, who contributed one a piece.

The Raiders stifled Brockville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Nepean kept the Braves' goalie busy throughout the game, and Andrew Pikul made 29 saves on 32 shots.

The Raiders were led by Mitchell Herlihey, who had one goal and one assist. Herlihey scored on the power play 10:30 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Nepean had gained a power play chance when Eric Israel was whistled for roughing. Philippe Gadoury assisted on the tally. Jody Sullivan also scored for Nepean. More assists for Nepean came via Luke Scott, Felix Page, and Keenan Hodgson, who each chipped in one.

Brockville incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Raiders' Brett Magnus stopped 47 shots out of the 51 that he faced. Nepean incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
