Nepean holds on for 4-3 win against GloucesterNepean Sportsplex Rink 1 Sun, Oct 20, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Gloucester Rangers tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Nepean Raiders would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3. Nepean took a 4-2 lead during the third period, only to have Gloucester storm back on a Matt Rosebrook goal 19:49 into the third period to pull to one goal down. The Raiders were sparked by Philippe Gadoury, who racked up one goal. Gadoury scored 19:17 into the third period to make the score Nepean. Felix Page provided the assist. Nepean excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Raiders kept the Rangers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Doug Johnston made 37 saves on 41 shots. Nepean also got points from Tanner Williams, who also had one goal and one assist. Nepean also got a goal from Mitchell Herlihey as well. Other players who recorded assists for Nepean were Jody Sullivan and Keenan Hodgson, who contributed one a piece and Brandon Watt and Michael Vered, who each chipped in two. Gloucester forced Nepean goalie Ryan Mulder to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. The defensemen of the Rangers were also effective in the Raiders' zone, and came away with two goals. Michael DiBello also scored for Gloucester. In addition, Gloucester received assists from Greg Jansz, who had two and Ryan Kuffner, Ethon MacLean, and Mitch Allen, who contributed one a piece. Nepean's Mulder stopped 28 shots out of the 31 that he faced. The Raiders incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Gloucester incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
