The Carleton Place Canadians' Kelly Summers scored 3:50 into overtime to beat the Hawkesbury Hawks, 4-3 (OT). Hawkesbury's 12 penalties came back to haunt it, as the Hawks let up four goals while on the penalty kill. Carleton Place's offense rang up 60 shots on Hawkesbury's net. The Canadians got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game. Craig Pefley also scored for Carleton Place. More assists for Carleton Place came via Evan Peterson, who had two, Larry Smith, who had three, and Elias Ghantous, Jim Roll, and Brett DAndrea, who contributed one a piece. The Hawks were hit hard by penalties in the contest, and totaled 11 minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. Hawkesbury was led by Trent Durocher, who finished with one goal and two assists. Durocher scored on the power play 16:10 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Carleton Place. The Hawks had gotten the advantage when Carleton Place's Adam Lloyd was sent off for game misconduct. Carl Faucher provided the assist. Hawkesbury also got points from Yanik Laliberte, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Hawkesbury also got a goal from Daniel Brickley as well. In addition, Hawkesbury received assists from Justin Villeneuve, who had one. Cory Simic made 11 saves before being replaced by Justin Laforest, who took the win and made one save. The Canadians ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. For Carleton Place, Lloyd was ejected from the game. Guillaume Therien recorded 56 saves for Hawkesbury. The Hawks registered two goals on four power play opportunities. Hawkesbury ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Joshua Renaud was ejected from the game.
