Kemptville holds on for 4-3 win against PembrokeNorth Grenville Municipal 1 Fri, Oct 18, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Pembroke Lumber Kings tried their best to erase a four-goal deficit, but the Kemptville 73s would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3. Kemptville took a 4-0 lead during the second period, only to have Pembroke storm back on a Mark Petaccio goal 18:38 into the third period to pull to one goal down. C Quinn was all over the ice for the 73s, as he finished with two goals in the win. Quinn scored at 11:00 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Kemptville and again while 19:04 into the second to make the score 2-0 Kemptville. The Lumber Kings were unable to stop Kemptville from sending pucks towards the net, and the 73s eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. Kemptville also got a goal from Olivier Chabot as well. In addition, Kemptville received assists from Matt Martin and Erik Brown, who each chipped in one and Brandon Seatter and Jesse Blais, who contributed two a piece. Pembroke excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Lumber Kings forced Kemptville goalie Jacob Lucier to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots. Pembroke was helped by Darcy Haines, who racked up one goal. Haines scored 3:09 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Kemptville. Petaccio picked up the assist. Pembroke additionally got points from Petaccio, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Colin Kruse also scored for Pembroke. More assists for Pembroke came via Felix Chamberland, who had two and Lucas Gonu and Keegan Harper, who each chipped in one. Jacob Lucier made 42 saves for the 73s on 45 shots. Kemptville incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Darren Smith recorded 36 saves for the Lumber Kings. Pembroke incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
