Pikul stymies Cumberland, Brockville wins 3-1Brockville Memorial Centre Fri, Oct 18, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Andrew Pikul had a standout game with 25 saves, and the Brockville Braves beat the Cumberland Grads 3-1. Cumberland's power play was ineffective against Brockville's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. The Braves were led by Hayden Hulton, who tallied one goal. Hulton scored 10:15 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Brockville. Taylor Henry provided the assist. Brockville kept the Grads' goalie busy throughout the game, and Kevin Gollmer made 29 saves on 32 shots. Brockville also got a goal from Nathan Todd as well. In addition, Brockville received assists from Jonathan Power, Andrew Peski, and David Lappin, who each chipped in one. Cumberland excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Grads were led by Travis Douglas, who scored the team's only goal. Douglas scored on the power play 56 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-0 Cumberland. Mark Golberg picked up the assist. The Braves incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Cumberland incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
