The Kanata Stallions and the Cornwall Colts were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Kanata made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Jeremy Carigan secured the win for the Stallions with a goal in the third period.

In a losing effort, Cornwall was sparked by Billy Ulrick, who racked up two goals. Kanata made Colts' goalies to work between the pipes, launching 34 shots and forcing 31 saves. Jordan Piccolino made 21 stops and James Edwardson made 10.

Kanata additionally got points from Nic LaBurn, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. JP Langlois also scored for Kanata. In addition, Kanata received assists from Derian Plouffe and Kasey Kulczycki, who contributed one a piece.

Other players who recorded assists for Cornwall were Tanner Spink and Matthew Cruickshank, who each chipped in one.

The Stallions' Gunner Rivers stopped 17 shots out of the 19 that he faced. Kanata totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. The Stallions ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kevin Groulx was ejected from the game.
