The Kanata Stallions and the Cornwall Colts were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Kanata made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Jeremy Carigan secured the win for the Stallions with a goal in the third period. Kanata was paced by Carigan, who finished with one goal. Carigan scored 2:30 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Kanata. Trent Yule assisted on the tally. In a losing effort, Cornwall was sparked by Billy Ulrick, who racked up two goals. Ulrick scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 7:31 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Kanata. The Colts had gotten the advantage when the Stallions' Braedan Moffatt was sent off for cross checking. Jay DAmour picked up the assist. Ulrick's next tally on the power play made the score 2-2 with 4:07 left in the second period. Pierre Ouellette assisted on the tally. Kanata made Colts' goalies to work between the pipes, launching 34 shots and forcing 31 saves. Jordan Piccolino made 21 stops and James Edwardson made 10. Kanata additionally got points from Nic LaBurn, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. JP Langlois also scored for Kanata. In addition, Kanata received assists from Derian Plouffe and Kasey Kulczycki, who contributed one a piece. Other players who recorded assists for Cornwall were Tanner Spink and Matthew Cruickshank, who each chipped in one. The Stallions' Gunner Rivers stopped 17 shots out of the 19 that he faced. The Stallions ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kevin Groulx was ejected from the game.
