Brockville uses early goal to top Kemptville, 2-0

Curtis Harvey gave the Brockville Braves the lead in the first period, and the Kemptville 73s was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 2-0.

A goal 12:18 into the the first period by Harvey proved to be the game winner, and powered Brockville to the victory A tripping penalty on Erik Brown had put the Braves on the power play. Hayden Hulton assisted on the tally.

Brockville was boosted by Andrew Pikul, who turned in a shutout with 25 saves. The solid play of Pikul will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 3.48.

The Braves' penalty kill excelled, as Brockville gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

The Braves stifled Kemptville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The 73s were unable to stop Brockville from sending pucks towards the net, and the Braves eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

Brockville also got a goal from Ryan Cusin as well. More assists for Brockville came via Ethan Weiss, Taylor Henry, and David Lappin, who contributed one a piece.

Kemptville did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The 73s average 3.0 goals per game.

Brockville incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Jacob Lucier recorded 33 saves for Kemptville. The 73s incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
