Nepean falls to Cumberland in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Travis Douglas gave the Cumberland Grads a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Nepean Raiders when he scored 2:50 into the extra period.

Cumberland was led by Douglas, who grabbed one goal.

Nepean was unable to stop the Grads from sending pucks towards the net, and Cumberland eventually piled up 42 shots on goal.

Brandon Grillo also scored for Cumberland. In addition, Cumberland received assists from Maxime St.Pierre and Matthew Dupont, who contributed one a piece and David Bennett and Dylan McDonald, who each chipped in two.

The Raiders' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Cumberland power plays. Nepean's offense rang up 39 shots on the Grads' net.

The Raiders were helped by Philippe Gadoury, who finished with one goal. Gadoury scored on the power play 45 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. Josh Zizek picked up the assist. Nepean also got points from Zizek, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Nepean came via Francesco Iannantuono, Brett Magnus, and Michael Vered, who contributed one a piece.

Kevin Gollmer made 37 saves for Cumberland on 39 shots. The Grads incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Magnus recorded 39 saves for Nepean. The Raiders incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
