Kemptville takes care of Gloucester early, wins 8-1

The Kemptville 73s jumped out to a four-point advantage by the end of the first period and beat the Gloucester Rangers, 8-1.

Kemptville was led by Dylan Giberson, who registered one goal. Giberson scored 9:23 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Kemptville. Hayden Hanson picked up the assist.

The 73s made Rangers' goaltenders to work between the pipes, firing 44 shots and forcing 36 saves. Danick Boisvert made seven stops and Doug Johnston made 29. Kemptville excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The 73s found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Kemptville averages 3.2 goals per contest.

Kemptville additionally got points from Phil Smith, who also had one goal and one assist, Brandon Seatter, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Erik Brown, who also registered one goal and one assist, Alex Row, who also tallied two goals and one assist, and Justin Haasbeek, who also had one goal and one assist. Kemptville also got a goal from Matt Tugnutt as well. In addition, Kemptville received assists from Aaron Hickie, who had two, Olivier Chabot, who had three, and Jackson Bruce-Fuoco, Jonathon Masters, Dean Galasso, Jesse Blais, and Brandon Cole, who contributed one a piece.

Gloucester could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Rangers put an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game.

Jacob Lucier rejected 24 shots on goal for the 73s. Kemptville incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Gloucester incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
