Cornwall falls to Pembroke after surprising comebackPembroke Memorial Center Sun, Oct 06, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Cornwall Colts could not hold down the Pembroke Lumber Kings, and Lumber Kings erased a two-goal deficit en route to a 4-3 win. Pembroke never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Lumber Kings fell behind 3-1 after a goal by Cornwall's Jay DAmour at 19:01 in the second period. Pembroke knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Felix Chamberland at 4:08 in the third period. The Lumber Kings netted the game winner at 6:27 in the third period on a goal by Chamberland. Jordan Larson had a great game for Pembroke, netting two goals. Larson's tallies came on the power play at 10:47 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and on the power play 35 seconds into the third to make the score 3-2 Cornwall. The Lumber Kings' offense rang up 34 shots on the Colts' net. Pembroke additionally got points from Chamberland, who also grabbed one goal and two assists and Lucas Gonu, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Other players who recorded assists for Pembroke were Matthew Wipper, who had one and Mark Petaccio, who had three. Cornwall was helped by Marly Quince, who had one goal. Quince scored on the power play 14:10 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Cornwall. The Colts had gotten the advantage when Pembroke's Larson was sent off for inciting an opponent. Sean King assisted on the tally. Cornwall also got a goal from Tanner Spink as well. In addition, Cornwall received assists from Pierre Ouellette, who had one. Darren Smith recorded 18 saves for the Lumber Kings. Pembroke incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. James Edwardson made 30 saves for Cornwall on 34 shots. The Colts incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
