Smiths Falls downs Ottawa, 5-2

Neil Doef had two points to lead the Smiths Falls Bears to a 5-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators.

Smiths Falls put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Ottawa to score on any of its five power plays.

Smiths Falls additionally got points from Stefano Momesso, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Smiths Falls also got a goal from Kevin Millejours as well. Other players who recorded assists for Smiths Falls were Brandon Lesway, who had three and Alek Deblois, Yannick Crete, Chris MacMillan, Karson McCartney, and Victor Beaulac, who contributed one a piece.

The Senators could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Ottawa averages 4.6 goals per game. The Senators forced the Bears goalie Michael Pinios to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

Pinios recorded 37 saves for Smiths Falls. The Bears totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. For Smiths Falls, Nicolas Coates was ejected from the game. Ian Andriano made 24 saves for Ottawa on 29 shots. The Senators incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
