Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Nepean Raiders defeated the Gloucester Rangers in a shootout 7-6 (2-1 SO). The two teams needed eight turns to complete the shootout. Gloucester's shootout goal was scored by Nicholas Brazeau. Nepean's other shootout goal was scored by Mitchell Herlihey.The Raiders saw a two-goal lead disappear, but was able to secure the win in a shootout. Nepean made the score 6-4 on a short handed goal by Herlihey at 5:47 in the third period. The Rangers evened things up at 6-6 on a short handed goal by Ryan Kuffner at 13:11 in the third period. Philippe Gadoury had a great game for the Raiders, netting two goals. Gadoury's tallies came at 13:41 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Nepean and 10:07 into the second to make the score 3-3. Nepean's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Gloucester power plays. The Raiders' offense rang up 43 shots on Gloucester's net. Nepean outdid its season average for goals scored. The Raiders average 4.3 goals per game. Nepean also got points from Herlihey, who also finished with two goals and one assist and Kris Johnson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Nepean also got a goal from Christopher Smith as well. More assists for Nepean came via Brandon Watt, who had three and Jesse Ferras and Keenan Hodgson, who contributed one a piece. Nepean was unable to stop the Rangers from sending pucks towards the net, and Gloucester eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. The Rangers surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Gloucester has scored at the pace of 3.2 goals per game during the current campaign. The Rangers were led by Matt Foget, who racked up three goals. Gloucester additionally got points from Matt Rosebrook, who also tallied one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. In addition, Gloucester received assists from Zak Salloum, who had one, Brazeau, who had two, and Maximian Veronneau and Luc Deschamps, who each chipped in three. Ryan Mulder recorded 29 saves for the Raiders. Nepean incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Doug Johnston made 36 saves for Gloucester on 42 shots. The Rangers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
