Pembroke blows out Ottawa, 6-3Jim Durrell Complex-Peplinski Wed, Oct 02, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Pembroke Lumber Kings had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-3 win over the Ottawa Senators. Pembroke found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Lumber Kings have scored at the pace of 3.2 goals per game during the current campaign. Pembroke could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game. The Lumber Kings were helped by Felix Chamberland, who racked up two goals and one assist. Chamberland scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 11:24 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Pembroke. Pembroke had taken the advantage when Ottawa's Greg Jansz got sent off for high sticking. Mark Petaccio picked up the assist. Chamberland's next tally on the power play made the score 6-3 Pembroke with 56 seconds left in the third period. Petaccio provided the assist. Pembroke additionally got points from Petaccio, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Pembroke also got a goal from Patrice Wren as well. More assists for Pembroke came via Lucas Gonu, Darcy Haines, and Keegan Harper, who each chipped in one. The Senators kept the Lumber Kings' goalie busy throughout the game, and Darren Smith made 33 saves on 36 shots. Ottawa had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just two goals on 10 chances. Ottawa also got points from Ryan Collins, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Eric Clitsome also scored for Ottawa. In addition, Ottawa received assists from Chris King, who had one and Zac Tierney, who had two. Pembroke registered two goals on six power play opportunities. Ian Andriano took the loss and made four saves before being replaced by Alexandre Savard-Belanger who made 19 saves. The Senators incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
