Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Gloucester Rangers defeated the Kemptville 73s in a shootout 2-1 (2-1 SO). The two teams needed eight turns to complete the shootout. Kemptville's shootout goal was scored by Dean Galasso. Gloucester's other shootout goal was scored by Nicholas Brazeau.The Rangers were led by goalie Doug Johnston, who finished with 27 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Johnston will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 3.5. Gloucester put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the 73s to score on any of their three power plays. The Rangers were led by Ryan Kuffner, who registered one goal. Kuffner scored 4:01 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Gloucester. Colton Keuhl picked up the assist. Kemptville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Gloucester power plays. The 73s were led by Brandon Seatter, who scored the team's only goal. Seatter scored 8:37 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Jesse Blais provided the assist. Gloucester incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Jacob Tugnutt made 24 saves for Kemptville on 25 shots. The 73s incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
