Nepean takes care of Hawkesbury early, wins 10-2Nepean Sportsplex Rink 1 Wed, Sep 25, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Nepean Raiders jumped out to a five-point advantage by the end of the first period and beat the Hawkesbury Hawks, 10-2. Philippe Gadoury had two goals and one assist to lead Nepean. Gadoury scored the first of his two goals at 5:44 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Nepean. Alexander Sifton assisted on the tally. Gadoury's next tally made the score 5-1 Nepean with 3:52 left in the first period. Felix Page picked up the assist. The Raiders made Hawks' netminders to work without much rest, firing 33 shots and forcing 23 saves. JP Sabourin made six stops and Guillaume Therien made 17. Nepean bested its season scoring average. The Raiders have scored at the pace of 4.4 goals per game during the current campaign. Nepean also got points from Page, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Tanner Williams, who also finished with two goals and one assist, Keenan Hodgson, who also registered one goal and one assist, Christopher Smith, who also had two goals and one assist, and Jake Roeper, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Nepean also got a goal from Max Robitaille as well. In addition, Nepean received assists from Luke Scott, Michael Constantine, Josh Zizek, and Michael Vered, who each chipped in one and Brandon Watt and Ryan J Robertson, who contributed three a piece. Hawkesbury forced Nepean goalie Ryan Mulder to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. Mulder recorded 33 saves for the Raiders. Nepean incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Hawks incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
