Todd nets hat trick, leads Brockville to 4-2 win over Gloucester

Nathan Todd netted a hat trick to lead the Brockville Braves over the Gloucester Rangers, 4-2.

Todd's first goal came 8:36 into the first period. He then added goals at 17:24 into the first and at 16:26 into the third.

Brockville's penalty kill excelled, as the Braves gave up zero goals despite allowing 10 power plays.

Brockville stifled Gloucester's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Braves were hit hard by penalties in the contest, and totaled 12 minors and one major for 29 minutes in penalty time.

Brockville also got a goal from Liam Neuman as well. In addition, Brockville received assists from Owen Gill, Eric Israel, Ethan Weiss, Cory Wilson, Ryan Cusin, and Ryan Walter, who contributed one a piece.

The Rangers forced Brockville goalie David Poirier to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Gloucester was helped by Ryan Kuffner, who had one goal. Kuffner scored 4:09 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Brockville. Nicholas Brazeau assisted on the tally. Matt Rosebrook also scored for Gloucester. More assists for Gloucester came via Mitch Allen, who had one.

David Poirier made 32 saves for the Braves on 34 shots. Brockville registered two goals on six power play opportunities. The Braves ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Walter was ejected from the game. The Rangers' Danick Boisvert stopped 25 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Gloucester ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and one major. Team's Lucas Zwaagstra and Michael DiBello were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
