Ottawa rips Nepean, 5-2Jim Durrell Complex-Peplinski Wed, Sep 18, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Nepean Raiders had trouble finding ways to stop the Ottawa Senators, which beat Raiders, 5-2. Ottawa stifled Nepean's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Senators forced the Raiders goalie Ryan Mulder to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. Ottawa was helped by Hunter Racine, who had two goals. Racine scored the first of his two goals at 16:12 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Ottawa. Ryan Collins provided the assist. Racine's next tally made the score 4-0 Ottawa with 11:19 left in the third period. Deric Boudreau assisted on the tally. Shawn Lynch also scored for Ottawa. More assists for Ottawa came via Joe Shecter, Chris King, Greg Jansz, and Zac Tierney, who contributed one a piece. Nepean was helped by Josh Zizek, who racked up one goal. Zizek scored 17:27 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Ottawa. Mitchell Herlihey provided the assist. Nepean additionally got points from Christopher Smith, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Nepean were Keenan Hodgson, who had one. Alexandre Savard-Belanger made 19 saves for the Senators on 21 shots. Ottawa incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Mulder rejected 33 shots on goal for the Raiders. Nepean incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For the Raiders, Tanner Williams was ejected from the game.
