Peterson leads Carleton Place over Pembroke, 4-0

Behind a great game by Evan Peterson, who had one goal and two assists, the Carleton Place Canadians defeated the Pembroke Lumber Kings, 4-0.

Peterson scored 2:37 into the third period to make the score 2-0 Carleton Place. Stephen Bayliss picked up the assist. Peterson dished an assist on Andy Sturtz's goal that made the score 1-0 Carleton Place at 16:54 into the first period. He added another helper on Forest Donovan's goal that made the score 4-0 Carleton Place at 13:51 into the third period.

Carleton Place's defense was surprisingly good. The Canadians average 2.1 goals allowed per game. Pembroke was unable to stop Carleton Place from sending pucks towards the net, and the Canadians eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.

Vinny Post also scored for Carleton Place. In addition, Carleton Place received assists from Jim Roll, who had two and Luke Edwards, Craig Pefley, and Kelly Summers, who contributed one a piece.

The Lumber Kings were held below their usual level of production. Pembroke puts an average of 2.5 pucks into the net per game.

Cory Simic recorded 21 saves for Carleton Place. The Canadians incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Darren Smith made 34 saves for the Lumber Kings on 38 shots. Pembroke incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
