Cumberland rips Gloucester, 5-2Navan Memorial Centre Sun, Sep 15, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Gloucester Rangers had trouble finding ways to stop the Cumberland Grads, which beat Rangers, 5-2. Mark Golberg was all over the ice for Cumberland, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Golberg scored the first of his two goals at 4:28 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cumberland. Tielen Celentano picked up the assist. Golberg's next tally made the score 4-1 Cumberland with 15:55 left in the second period. Riley Hennigar provided the assist. Gloucester was unable to stop the Grads from sending pucks towards the net, and Cumberland eventually piled up 47 shots on goal. The Grads could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 22 minutes in penalties during the game. Cumberland also got points from Hennigar, who also registered one goal and one assist and Dylan McDonald, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Cumberland also got a goal from Brandon Zullo as well. Other players who recorded assists for Cumberland were Travis Douglas, who had two and Tyler Pancel and Nicholas Ngwafusi, who contributed one a piece. The Rangers' offense rang up 34 shots on Cumberland's net. Gloucester was ineffective while on the power play, as it was held to two goals off of nine man advantages. The Rangers were helped by Lucas Zwaagstra, who had one goal. Zwaagstra scored on the power play 18:59 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Cumberland. A unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Matthew Dupont had put Gloucester on the power play. Keegan Rowe picked up the assist. Luc Deschamps also scored for Gloucester. More assists for Gloucester came via Maximian Veronneau, who had one and Zak Salloum, who had two. Kevin Gollmer recorded 32 saves for the Grads. Cumberland registered one goal on three power play opportunities. The Rangers' Doug Johnston stopped 42 shots out of the 47 that he faced. Gloucester incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
