Huge game by Ulrick boosts Cornwall over Nepean, 6-3

Behind a great game by Billy Ulrick, who had two goals and one assist, the Cornwall Colts defeated the Nepean Raiders, 6-3.

Ulrick scored at 11:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cornwall and again while on the power play 7:34 into the third to make the score 4-3 Cornwall.

Cornwall forced Nepean's netminders to work all game long, launching 39 shots and forcing 33 saves. Ryan Mulder made 14 stops and Brett Magnus made 19. The Colts bested their season scoring average. Cornwall averages 2.1 goals per game. The Colts capitalized on the Raiders' penalties, netting two goals while skating with a man advantage.

Cornwall additionally got points from Kevin Hope, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Cornwall also got a goal from Thomas Mansbridge as well. Other players who recorded assists for Cornwall were Tanner Spink, who had three and Ross Craig, Matthew Cruickshank, Grant Cooper, Jay DAmour, Neil Woolfrey, and Marly Quince, who each chipped in one.

Nepean was led by Felix Page, who registered two goals. Page scored the first of his two goals at 19:43 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Cornwall. Max Robitaille assisted on the tally. Page's next tally made the score 3-3 with 7:59 left in the second period. Robitaille provided the assist. Brandon Watt also scored for Nepean. More assists for Nepean came via Tanner Williams, Conner Judson, Mitchell Herlihey, and Philippe Gadoury, who contributed one a piece.

James Edwardson made 10 saves before being replaced by Jordan Piccolino, who took the win and made 13 saves. The Raiders incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities.
