Cornwall boosted by Edwardson's play in net, beats Hawkesbury 2-1Ed Lumley Arena Thu, Sep 05, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
A stellar performance between the pipes by James Edwardson helped the Cornwall Colts defeat the Hawkesbury Hawks, 2-1. Cornwall was sparked by Marly Quince, who finished with one goal. Quince scored on the power play 3:06 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Cornwall. Sean King provided the assist. The Colts stifled Hawkesbury's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Hawks were unable to stop Cornwall from sending pucks towards the net, and the Colts eventually piled up 41 shots on goal. Jay DAmour also scored for Cornwall. More assists for Cornwall came via Matthew Cruickshank, Grant Cooper, and Pierre Ouellette, who contributed one a piece. Hawkesbury was led by Nicolas Vlahos, who scored the team's only goal. Vlahos scored 2:29 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Hawkesbury. Mathieu Galipeau picked up the assist. Edwardson rejected 25 shots on goal for Cornwall. The Colts incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Guillaume Therien made 39 saves for the Hawks on 41 shots. Hawkesbury incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
