Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Cornwall Colts defeated the Pembroke Lumber Kings in a shootout 2-1 (1-0 SO). The shootout featured five attempts between both teams.Cornwall was led by goalie Jordan Piccolino, who finished with 28 saves while allowing one goal. Piccolino certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.75 entering the contest. The Colts put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Pembroke to score on any of its five power plays. Cornwall was led by Marly Quince, who had one goal. Quince scored on the power play 28 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-0 Cornwall. Chase Pearson picked up the assist. More assists for Cornwall came via Pierre Ouellette, who had one. The Lumber Kings were led by Lucas Gonu, who scored the team's only goal. Gonu scored 16:59 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Patrice Wren provided the assist. The Colts incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Darren Smith made 22 saves for Pembroke on 23 shots. The Lumber Kings incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
