Team HNO downs Team NOHA in overtime, 3-2 (OT)Sportsworld North Sun, May 12, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Team HNO pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over Team NOHA on a clutch goal by Trevor Kavanaugh. Kavanaugh was all over the ice for Team HNO, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Kavanaugh scored 5:00 into overtime to make the score 3-2 Team HNO. Team HNO excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Team HNO forced Team NOHA goalie Kevin Labelle to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Team HNO was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 18 penalty minutes. Team HNO also got a goal from Zachary Grezelewski as well. In addition, Team HNO received assists from Jared Fanti and Tyler Minoletti, who contributed one a piece. Team HNO was unable to stop Team NOHA from sending pucks towards the net, and Team NOHA eventually piled up 39 shots on goal. Team NOHA's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Team NOHA finished with 18 penalty minutes. Team NOHA's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Team NOHA was helped by Alex Morin, who grabbed one goal. Morin scored 12:09 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Bradley Sutton picked up the assist. Caleb Bowman also scored for Team NOHA. Other players who recorded assists for Team NOHA were Adam McPhail and Blake Speers, who each chipped in one. Team HNO's Brandon Bodnar stopped 37 shots out of the 39 that he faced. Team HNO registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Kevin Labelle made 28 saves for Team NOHA on 31 shots.
