Bismarck rides Nelson to victory over Austin, 2-1

Aaron Nelson had a standout game with 36 saves, and the Bismarck Bobcats beat the Austin Bruins 2-1.

The win by Bismarck clinched the best of five series at 3-1.

The Bobcats were paced by Shane Omdahl, who had one goal. Omdahl scored 5:25 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Bismarck. Adam Knochenmus provided the assist.

Bismarck's offense rang up 38 shots on Austin's net.

Seth Blair also scored for Bismarck. In addition, Bismarck received assists from Matt Pohlkamp, who had one and Nate Repensky, who had two.

The Bruins forced the Bobcats goalie Nelson to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

Austin was led by AJ Reid, who scored the team's only goal. Reid scored 7:46 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Austin. Riley Colvard assisted on the tally.

Bismarck incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Jason Pawloski recorded 36 saves for the Bruins. Austin incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
