Bismarck erases deficit to stun Austin, 3-2

The Bismarck Bobcats climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat the Austin Bruins, 3-2.

Bismarck never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Bobcats was down 2-0 after a goal by Austin's CJ Smith at 6:44 in the second period. Bismarck knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Levi Blom at 8:11 in the third period. The Bobcats scored the game winner on the power play at 11:11 in the third period on a goal by Blom.

After the loss made the series score 2-1 in the best of five series, the Bruins face elimination next time out.

Matt Pohlkamp had one goal and two assists to lead Bismarck.

Austin was unable to stop the Bobcats from sending pucks towards the net, and Bismarck eventually piled up 40 shots on goal.

Bismarck also got a goal from Shane Omdahl as well. Other players who recorded assists for Bismarck were Nate Repensky, who had two and Stanislav Dzakhov and Filip Starzynski, who contributed one a piece.

The Bruins' offense was helped by the efforts of their defensemen, who managed to put 13 shots on net during the game.

John Simonson also scored for Austin. In addition, Austin received assists from Chris Fischer, who had two.

Aaron Nelson rejected 28 shots on goal for the Bobcats. Bismarck incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Nicholas Lehr recorded 37 saves for Austin. The Bruins incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
