Team California beats Team Central 3-1 after comeback scareCC-Stars Sat, May 11, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Team Central tried its best to erase a three-goal deficit, but Team California would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-1. Team California took a 3-0 lead during the second period, only to have Team Central storm back on a Kole Hudson goal 2:08 into the third period to pull to two goals down. Team California was led by Adam Shaner, who racked up one goal and one assist. Shaner scored 1:24 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Team California. Team California made Team Central's netminders to work between the pipes, launching 39 shots and forcing 36 saves. Bradley Amato made 15 stops and Jaxson Gosnell made 21. Team California's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Team Central power plays. Team California also got a goal from Mikko Kivinen as well. In addition, Team California received assists from Max McLain and Jay Clarke, who contributed one a piece. Team Central did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 12 shots on net to force 11 saves. Danny Kowalski made three saves before being replaced by Cole Semchak, who took the win and made eight saves. Team California incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Team Central incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
