Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Team East defeated Team Michigan in a shootout 4-3. The shootout featured 12 attempts between both teams.Team East overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Team East trailed 2-0 after a goal by Team Michigan's Connor Colombe at 3:21 in the second period. Team East tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Cole Hepler at 6:46 in the second period. Team East was helped by Ryan Price, who registered one goal. Price scored 16:27 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Team East. Nikita Samoylov picked up the assist. Team East additionally got points from Samoylov, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Mitchell McLean also scored for Team East. In addition, Team East received assists from Gregory Johnson and Trevor Recktenwald, who each chipped in one. Team Michigan made Team East's goaltenders to work all game long, racking up 33 shots and forcing 30 saves. Nick Bretzger made 23 stops and Joseph Licata made seven. Team Michigan also got a goal from Brad Reitter as well. Other players who recorded assists for Team Michigan were Ian Wiljanen, Chris Beck, Tommy Dierl, and Theodore Waddell, who contributed one a piece. Team East incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Nick Light made 18 saves before being replaced by Matthew MacInnis, who took the loss and made eight saves. Team Michigan incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
