Amarillo rides Berrafato to victory over Texas, 5-1

Paul Berrafato had a standout game with 26 saves, and the Amarillo Bulls beat the Texas Tornado 5-1.

After the loss made the series score 2-0 in the best of five series, Texas faces elimination next time out.

Amarillo's penalty kill excelled, as the Bulls gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Amarillo was paced by Ryan Cole, who racked up one goal and one assist. Cole scored on the power play 15 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-1 Amarillo. Brady Ferguson assisted on the tally.

Amarillo also got points from Ferguson, who also had two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Amarillo also got a goal from Tyler Deresky as well. In addition, Amarillo received assists from Gage Christianson, who had two and Tyler Rostenkowski, Dan McNamara, and Joe Grabowski, who contributed one a piece.

The Tornado were led by Brandon Hawkins, who scored the team's only goal. Hawkins scored on the power play 18:22 into the first period to make the score 1-1. A roughing penalty on Ferguson had put Texas on the power play. Nick Neville picked up the assist.

The Bulls totaled 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors and two majors and went 1-for-4 on the power play. Hunter Leisner took the loss and made 18 saves before being replaced by Aaron Davis who made seven saves. The Tornado ended with 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors and two majors.
