Mitch Marner was all over the ice for the St. Michaels Buzzers, as he tallied two goals in St. Michaels' 3-1 win over the Newmarket Hurricanes. Marner found the back of the net 1:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Michaels and again while 3:30 into the third to make the score 3-1 St. Michaels.The win by the Buzzers clinched the best of seven series at 4-3. St. Michaels was led by goalie Adrian Ignagni, who finished with 43 saves while allowing one goal. Ignagni certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.48 entering the contest. The Buzzers forced Newmarket goalie Matthew Wintjes to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. St. Michaels did not rack up many penalties in the contest, totaling just one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Shane Conacher also scored for St. Michaels. More assists for St. Michaels came via Michael Neville, who had two and Matt Buckles and Matt Galati, who contributed one a piece. The Buzzers were unable to stop the Hurricanes from sending pucks towards the net, and Newmarket eventually piled up 44 shots on goal. The Hurricanes did not rack up many penalties in the contest, finishing with only one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Newmarket was led by Ryan Johnson, who scored the team's only goal. Johnson scored 12:34 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Travis Dermott assisted on the tally. St. Michaels registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. The Buzzers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Buckles was ejected from the game. The Hurricanes' Wintjes stopped 38 shots out of the 41 that he faced. Newmarket registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
