Marble stymies Port Huron, Soo wins 4-1McMorran Arena - Main Thu, Apr 18, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Soo Eagles relied on the sparkling performance of Tyler Marble in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Port Huron Fighting Falcons. The win by Soo clinched the best of five series at 3-0. Mike Sabatini had a great game for the Eagles, netting two goals. Sabatini's tallies came at 3:27 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Soo and 10:16 into the third to make the score 4-1 Soo. Soo's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Port Huron power plays. Soo also got a goal from Jared VanWormer as well. In addition, Soo received assists from Cody Von Reuden, Michael Lant, Sean Murphy, Robin Hoglund, and Matt Menta, who contributed one a piece. Port Huron forced the Eagles goalie Marble to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. The Fighting Falcons were led by Payden Mielke, who scored the team's only goal. Mielke scored 7:49 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Soo. Dan Dupell provided the assist. Tyler Marble made 33 saves for Soo on 34 shots. The Eagles incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Port Huron's Max Milosek stopped 26 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Fighting Falcons incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
