Huntsville falls to Pensacola in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

Dan Buccella gave the Pensacola Ice Flyers a 2-1 (OT) victory over the Huntsville Havoc when he scored 17:01 into the extra period.

After the loss made the series score 1-0 in the best of three series, Huntsville faces elimination next time out.

Pensacola's Ross MacKinnon was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 43 saves and let only one puck past him. MacKinnon certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.32 entering the contest.

The Ice Flyers were led by Buccella, who registered one goal.

The Havoc were unable to stop Pensacola from sending pucks towards the net, and the Ice Flyers eventually piled up 72 shots on goal. Pensacola did not rack up many penalties in the contest, finishing with only one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Mitchell Good also scored for Pensacola. Other players who recorded assists for Pensacola were Nick Dupuis, Brad Cooper, Tyler Soehner, and Patrick Knowlton, who each chipped in one.

Huntsville's offense rang up 44 shots on the Ice Flyers' net. The Havoc did not rack up many penalties in the contest, tallying a minimal one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Huntsville was led by Stuart Stefan, who scored the team's only goal. Stefan scored 17:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Huntsville. Leland Fidler picked up the assist.

Pensacola registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. Jesse Kallechy rejected 70 shots on goal for the Havoc. Huntsville registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
