Barber's hat trick boosts Wenatchee over Fresno, 4-1Town Toyota Center Sun, Apr 21, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Jacob Barber lifted the Wenatchee Wild to a 4-1 victory with a hat trick against the Fresno Monsters. Barber notched his first tally 11:43 into the first period. He then added goals at 14:52 into the second and at 19:51 into the third.The win by Wenatchee clinched the best of five series at 3-2. The Wild forced Fresno goalie Tomas Sholl to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. Wenatchee also got a goal from Nicholas Kuchera as well. In addition, Wenatchee received assists from Joseph Sullivan, who had two and Nathan Flynn, Joshua Hartley, Blake Butzow, Max McHugh, and Robert Nichols, who each chipped in one. The Monsters were led by Gordon Wells, who scored the team's only goal. Wells scored 14:17 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Mitchell Snyder assisted on the tally. Wenatchee's Nichols stopped 17 shots out of the 18 that he faced. The Wild incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Sholl rejected 34 shots on goal for Fresno. The Monsters incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. |
