Austin downs Minot, 3-1Riverside Fri, Apr 12, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Grant Eichstadt finished with one point to lead the Austin Bruins to a 3-1 victory over the Minot Minotauros. The win gave Austin a 1-0 lead in the best of five series. The Bruins' offense rang up 33 shots on Minot's net. The defensemen of Austin were also effective in the Minotauros' zone, and came away with two goals. Nolan Kirley also scored for Austin. Other players who recorded assists for Austin were Drew Anderson, Chris Fischer, CJ Smith, and Travis Maxwell, who each chipped in one. Minot put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Bruins to score on any of their three power plays. The Minotauros were led by Cameron Rowat, who scored the team's only goal. Rowat scored 13:49 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Zack Holstrom picked up the assist. Austin's Nicholas Lehr stopped 23 shots out of the 24 that he faced. The Bruins incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Tyler Parks made 30 saves for Minot on 32 shots. The Minotauros incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
