Behind two goals and one assist from Seth Blair and one goal and two assists from Matt Anders, the Bismarck Bobcats downed the Brookings Blizzard 6-3. Blair scored the first of his two goals at 15:29 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Bob Kinne provided the assist. Blair's next tally made the score 5-3 Bismarck with 4:52 left in the third period. Bismarck had gotten the advantage when Brookings' Adam Cavalinni was sent off for head contact. Evan Giesler assisted on the tally. Anders scored 17:50 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Bismarck. Kinne provided the assist.After the loss made the series score 2-0 in the best of five series, the Blizzard face elimination next time out. The Bobcats kept Brookings' goalie busy throughout the game, and Drew Weigman made 31 saves on 37 shots. Bismarck also got points from Stanislav Dzakhov, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Giesler, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Filip Starzynski, who also had one goal and one assist, and Anders, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. In addition, Bismarck received assists from Levi Blom, Jeremy OKeefe, Adam Knochenmus, and Joe Giordano, who contributed one a piece. The Blizzard were helped by Eric Brenk, who racked up two goals. Brenk scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 7:24 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Brookings. Brookings had taken the advantage when Bismarck's Rory Vesel got sent off for tripping. Evan Hesse assisted on the tally. Brenk's next tally on the power play made the score 4-3 Bismarck with 9:49 left in the third period. Hesse picked up the assist. Brookings additionally got points from Tyler Cayemberg, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Brookings came via Connor Andrle and Cody Marooney, who each chipped in one. The Bobcats' Aaron Nelson stopped 27 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Bismarck incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Blizzard incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
