The Welland Jr. Canadians tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the St. Catharines Falcons would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-2. St. Catharines took a 4-1 lead during the third period, only to have Welland storm back on a CJ Stellato goal 15:23 into the third period to pull to two goals down. The win gave the Falcons a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. St. Catharines pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 14 penalty minutes. The Falcons put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Jr. Canadians to score on any of their six power plays. St. Catharines was helped by Luke Karaim, who grabbed one goal. Karaim scored on the power play 9:08 into the second period to make the score 2-0 St. Catharines. The Falcons earned a power play opportunity when Brooker Muir was put in the box for high sticking. Yanni Rallis provided the assist. St. Catharines additionally got points from Rallis, who also racked up one goal and one assist. St. Catharines also got a goal from Tyler Jackson as well. Other players who recorded assists for St. Catharines were Kyle Woodhouse, Aaron Taylor, Spencer DeWolfe, Julian Luciani, Mitch Bursey, and Ed Creighton, who each chipped in one. Welland forced St. Catharines goalie Jonathon D Ilario to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. The Jr. Canadians were helped by Chris Brown, who registered one goal. Brown scored 1:40 into the third period to make the score 3-1 St. Catharines. Adam Mataya picked up the assist. More assists for Welland came via Riley Brooks, Jason Lacroix, and Matthew Mateljan, who contributed one a piece. Jonathon D Ilario made 30 saves for the Falcons on 32 shots. St. Catharines registered one goal on two power play opportunities. Chris McDougall rejected 25 shots on goal for Welland. The Jr. Canadians incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
