London hangs on, beats Chatham 4-2Chatham Memorial Arena Thu, Apr 04, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The London Nationals took the lead against the Chatham Maroons in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 4-2 victory. Jeff Bauer provided London with the game-winning tally when he scored 5:45 into the the first period. Derek Todosichuk picked up the assist.The win by the Nationals clinched the best of seven series at 4-1. Sean Consitt was all over the ice for London, as he had two goals in the win. Consitt's tallies came at 36 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-1 London and 19:28 into the third to make the score 4-2 London. The Nationals' offense rang up 33 shots on Chatham's net. Tyler Bryden also scored for London. Other players who recorded assists for London were Noah Schwartz, who had two and Lance Pridham and Matt Wildman, who contributed one a piece. The Maroons were led by Sean Myers, who grabbed two goals. Myers scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 11:25 into the second period to make the score 2-1 London. Chatham had gotten the advantage when London's Ryan Wells was sent off for cross checking. Evan Mascaro assisted on the tally. Myers' next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 London with 6:28 left in the third period. The Maroons earned a power play opportunity when Ryan Tuffin was put in the box for interference. Blake Blondeel picked up the assist. In addition, Chatham received assists from Brennan Feasey, who had one. Taylor Edwards made 27 saves for the Nationals on 29 shots. London incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Darien Ekblad recorded 29 saves for Chatham. The Maroons incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
