The London Nationals survived a determined comeback attempt by the Chatham Maroons on the way to a 4-2 win. London made the score 4-1 on a goal by Sean Consitt at 15:54 in the third period, and Chatham got as close as 4-2 when Brennan Feasey scored 16:50 into the third period. The win gave the Nationals a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. London forced the Maroons goalie Darien Ekblad to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots. The Nationals were helped by Aaron Dartch, who registered one goal. Dartch scored 16:21 into the first period to make the score 1-0 London. Paul Hopkins picked up the assist. London additionally got points from Consitt, who also finished with one goal and one assist. London also got a goal from Connor Allison as well. More assists for London came via Lance Pridham, Noah Schwartz, Jeff Bauer, and Scott Lombardi, who each chipped in one. Chatham kept London's goalie busy throughout the game, and Taylor Edwards made 31 saves on 33 shots. The Maroons did not rack up many penalties in the contest, finishing with a minimal one minor for 12 minutes in penalty time. Chatham also got points from Blake Blondeel, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Chatham received assists from Sean Myers, who had two. The Nationals incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Ekblad recorded 39 saves for Chatham. The Maroons registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
