The Newmarket Hurricanes pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Kingston Voyageurs on a clutch goal by Brandon Francisco. After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, Kingston faces elimination next time out. The Voyageurs' power play was ineffective against Newmarket's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. The Hurricanes were sparked by Francisco, who racked up one goal and one assist. Francisco scored 6:17 into overtime to make the score 3-2 Newmarket. Calvin Higley picked up the assist. The defensemen of Newmarket were also effective in Kingston's zone, and came away with two goals. Travis Dermott also scored for Newmarket. Other players who recorded assists for Newmarket were Daniel Leavens, who had two and Chris Chiste and Elliott Burlon, who each chipped in one.
