The Kingston Voyageurs tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Newmarket Hurricanes held on for a 3-2 victory. Newmarket made the score 3-1 on a goal by Daniel Leavens at 19:43 in the second period, and Kingston got as close as 3-2 when Brett Du Puy scored 19:13 into the third period. With the win, the Hurricanes evened the series at 2-2 in the best of seven showdown. Elliott Burlon had a great game for Newmarket, netting two goals. Burlon's tallies came at 10:09 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and 9:35 into the second to make the score 2-1 Newmarket. The Hurricanes kept the Voyageurs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Charlie Finn made 36 saves on 39 shots. In addition, Newmarket received assists from Calvin Higley, who had one and Brandon Francisco and Kyler Nixon, who each chipped in two. Kingston put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Newmarket to score on any of its seven power plays. Kingston additionally got points from Michael Schug, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Kingston were Jarret Kup, who had one. The Hurricanes' Matthew Wintjes stopped 23 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Newmarket incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Voyageurs incurred 38 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
