Matthew Wintjes was superb between the pipes for the Newmarket Hurricanes, as he did not allow a goal in a 1-0 victory over the Kingston Voyageurs. With the win, Newmarket evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown. Daniel Leavens's game-winning tally was the game's only goal. It came at 10:48 in the second period. The Hurricanes had gotten the advantage when Kingston's Graham Yeo was sent off for high sticking. Justin Maiolino assisted on the tally. Newmarket was paced by Leavens, who tallied one goal. The Hurricanes' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Kingston power plays. Newmarket kept the Voyageurs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Charlie Finn made 39 saves on 40 shots. Other players who recorded assists for Newmarket were Travis Dermott, who had one. Wintjes recorded 29 saves for the Hurricanes. Newmarket incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Kingston incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
