The Thorold Blackhawks tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the St. Catharines Falcons would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 6-4. St. Catharines took a 6-3 lead during the third period, only to have Thorold storm back on a Mark Arnone goal 15:32 into the third period to pull to two goals down. After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, the Blackhawks face elimination next time out. Spencer DeWolfe was all over the ice for the Falcons, as he tallied two goals and two assists in the win. DeWolfe scored the first of his two goals at 5:11 into the third period to make the score 4-3 St. Catharines. Ed Creighton provided the assist. DeWolfe's next tally made the score St. Catharines with 10:32 left in the third period. St. Catharines had gained a power play chance when Chris Goulet was whistled for head contact. Jesse Miller assisted on the tally. The Falcons' offense rang up 41 shots on Thorold's net. St. Catharines additionally got points from Miller, who also tallied one goal and one assist. St. Catharines also had goals scored by Tyler Jackson, who had one and Aaron Taylor, who had two. More assists for St. Catharines came via Mitch Bennett, who had two and Christian Harper, Jimmy Sheehan, Greg Jambrosich, Luke Karaim, and Jordan Bailey, who contributed one a piece. The Blackhawks forced St. Catharines' netminders to work between the pipes, getting 45 shots and forcing 41 saves. Jonathon D Ilario made 37 stops and Stormer Santana made four. Thorold got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Thorold also got a goal from Kevin Lavoie as well. Other players who recorded assists for Thorold were Adrian Copeland, who had three and Owen Sobchak, Matthew Hoszko, and Dan Chudobiak, who each chipped in one. The Falcons totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. St. Catharines ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kyle Woodhouse was ejected from the game. The Blackhawks' Vinny Merante stopped 35 shots out of the 41 that he faced. Thorold incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
