Alie Brindamour-McClure(A) scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and AURORA held off the challenges of WHITBY in a tough 2-0 win.

AURORA took over the lead for good with a goal by Brindamour-McClure(A) at 3:21 in the first period. Jacky Normandeau picked up the assist.

After the loss made the series score 1-2 in the best of five series, WHITBY faces elimination next time out.

AURORA was boosted by Paula Voorheis, who turned in a shutout with 33 saves. The solid play of Voorheis will be reflected in her goals against average, which pre-game was 1.28.

AURORA pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes.

AURORA's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six WHITBY power plays.

Christina Ieradi also scored for AURORA. In addition, AURORA received assists from Courtney Brindamour-McClure(A), who had two.

WHITBY stifled AURORA's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. WHITBY's offense rang up 33 shots on AURORA's net.

AURORA registered zero goals on six power play opportunities. Marissa Kozovski rejected 14 shots on goal for WHITBY. WHITBY incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
