The North York Rangers gutted out a close 4-2 win against the Buffalo Jr. Sabres. North York gained the winning advantage on a goal by John Carpino 11:28 into the second period and hung on until final buzzer. The win gave the Rangers a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. North York was led by Taylor Pryce, who had one goal. Pryce scored 11:52 into the second period to make the score 3-1 North York. Ryan Kinsella provided the assist. In the losing effort, Buffalo was sparked by Pat Egan, who had two goals. Egan scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 37 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. Nick Scamurra assisted on the tally. Egan's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 North York with 6:08 left in the second period. Tyler Gjurich picked up the assist. The Rangers forced the Jr. Sabres goalie Parker Gahagen to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. North York additionally got points from Corey Kalk, who also racked up one goal and one assist. North York also got a goal from Chris Aitcheson as well. In addition, North York received assists from Liam Kerins, who had two and Valadao Adam, Fung Zachary, and Dana Tenenbaum, who contributed one a piece. Buffalo kept North York's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jason Pucciarelli made 31 saves on 33 shots. Other players who recorded assists for Buffalo were Tony DeVito, who had one. The Rangers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Jr. Sabres' Gahagen stopped 27 shots out of the 31 that he faced. Buffalo incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
