Caledonia rolls over Stratford, 7-4Allman Arena Mon, Mar 18, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Stratford Cullitons had trouble finding ways to stop the Caledonia Corvairs, which beat Cullitons, 7-4. With the win, Caledonia evened the series at 2-2 in the best of seven showdown. The Corvairs stifled Stratford's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Caledonia was helped by Brier Jonathan, who tallied one goal. Jonathan scored 16:04 into the second period to make the score 5-3 Caledonia. Brandon Montour assisted on the tally. Caledonia also got points from Fabrizio Ricci, who also had two goals and one assist to lead the team in points and Greg Christmas, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Caledonia also got a goal from Spencer Gourlay as well. In addition, Caledonia received assists from Justin Abraham, Connor Murphy, and Marc Silvestri, who contributed one a piece and Tyler Norrie and Leonard Dziemianko, who each chipped in two. The Cullitons forced the Corvairs goalie Justis Husak to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. Stratford was led by Andrew Barton, who registered one goal and two assists. Barton scored 6:42 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Caledonia. Jordan Currie picked up the assist. Stratford additionally got points from Liam Maaskant, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Jake Ryan, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Jonathan Langford also scored for Stratford. Other players who recorded assists for Stratford were Brett Heaman, Mike Pleon, and Mitch Vandergunst, who contributed one a piece. Caledonia's Husak stopped 35 shots out of the 39 that he faced. The Corvairs incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Cullitons' starting goalie, Nick Caldwell, made 14 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Michael Pesendorfer, who stopped eight shots. Stratford incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
