Leamington outlasts London, 4-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Leamington Flyers escaped with a 4-2 victory over the London Nationals.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Mitchell Amante's goal in the second period proved to be the difference maker.

The win moved Leamington to down 2-1 in the best of seven series.

The Flyers were led by Tony Spidalieri, who racked up one goal. Spidalieri scored 15:01 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Leamington. Nathan Opblinger assisted on the tally.

Leamington kept London's goalie busy throughout the game, and Taylor Edwards made 32 saves on 36 shots.

Leamington additionally got points from Myles Doan, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Amante, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. David Dalby also scored for Leamington. More assists for Leamington came via Kyle Bowman, who had one and Alex Seguin, who had two.

The Nationals were helped by Sean Consitt, who finished with one goal. Consitt scored on the power play 15:15 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Leamington. London had gained a power play chance when Brett Langlois was whistled for interference. Blake Thomas provided the assist. London also got a goal from Noah Schwartz as well. In addition, London received assists from Ryan Wells, who had one.

Austyn Roudebush recorded 20 saves for the Flyers. Leamington incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Nationals totaled 21 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. For London, Consitt was ejected from the game.
